Around 10 000 participants took part in the picnic. The event was hosted by Dorota Wellman, Marcin Prokop and Filip Chajzer. Special guests were AVON brand ambassadors: Małgorzata Kożuchowska, Patricia Kazadi and Red Lipstick Monster, with whom the participants could maintain contact, make selfies and groupies, gain autographs throughout the event.
In the health section, patients were examined by Medicover doctors, where 240 consultations were carried out. There were also 160 ultrasound medical examinations carried out onsite during the event. Two cases requiring additional oncological care were detected.
Thanks to the AVON Facebook profile, we effectively managed the registration for ultrasound examinations. We also took care of women who do not use social media and provided them with the possibility of registering at the event itself.
We have prepared special thematic areas for the quests. Braffiters from Li PARIE Lingerie company informed about the importance of proper bra selection. Braster educated on home-based breast cancer prevention, taught self-examination techniques using an innovative thermal-scan device and mobile app. Massage therapists from For Good Health took care of relaxation. In total, we provided 20 such zones for picnic guests.
During the picnic more than 2 million km were collected through the Endomondo mobile application in the competition "AVON Walk & Ride. Every kilometre matters", for which AVON later co-financed 6,000 ultrasound breast examinations during the October action "Clinics with a Pink Ribbon". We feel great joy from the possibility of organizing such a wonderful and necessary event. Cancer is not a verdict and by an early diagnosis, it can be cured!
